1. Our Commitment to Accessibility

Career Cortex LLC is committed to making our platform accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to tools that can help them advance their careers.

We are actively working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines help ensure that digital content is accessible to people with a broad range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.

We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time achievement. As a platform in active development, we are building accessibility into our processes from the ground up and continuously working to improve the experience for all users.

2. Standards We Are Working Toward

Our accessibility efforts are guided by the following standards and principles:

  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA: Our target standard. WCAG 2.1 AA covers a wide range of recommendations for making web content more accessible, organized around four core principles: content should be Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR).
  • Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act: We aim to meet the requirements of Section 508, which applies to electronic and information technology and aligns closely with WCAG 2.0 Level AA.
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): We are committed to ensuring our digital services do not discriminate against individuals with disabilities, consistent with the principles of the ADA.

3. Current Accessibility Status

Career Cortex is in the early stages of its accessibility journey. We want to be transparent about where we stand today:

  • Our platform is built using modern web technologies (React/Next.js) that support accessibility features, including semantic HTML, ARIA attributes, and responsive design
  • We have not yet completed a formal accessibility audit or comprehensive testing with assistive technologies
  • We are actively incorporating accessibility best practices into our ongoing development process
  • We welcome feedback from users about accessibility barriers they encounter so we can prioritize improvements

We are committed to honest transparency about our progress rather than claiming compliance we have not yet verified.

4. Known Limitations

While we are working to improve, we are aware that some areas of the Platform may have accessibility limitations. Known areas that may require improvement include:

  • Document upload and parsing: The resume upload flow and parsed content display may not be fully optimized for screen readers or keyboard-only navigation
  • AI-generated content: Dynamically generated content (such as resume scores, optimization suggestions, and cover letter drafts) may not always include appropriate ARIA live regions or announce changes to assistive technologies
  • Interactive elements: Some interactive components, including drag-and-drop features, data visualizations, and complex form elements, may not be fully accessible via keyboard or screen reader
  • PDF and document generation: Generated documents (resume exports, cover letter downloads) may not meet all PDF/UA accessibility standards
  • Color contrast: Some interface elements may not meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratio requirements (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Browser Extension: The Career Cortex Job Extractor browser extension has not been tested for accessibility with assistive technologies

We are addressing these limitations as part of our ongoing development roadmap.

5. Accessibility Improvement Roadmap

We are committed to a phased approach to improving accessibility across the Platform:

PhaseFocus AreaTarget Timeline
Phase 1Automated accessibility testing integration into development workflow, keyboard navigation audit, color contrast review and fixesQ2 2026
Phase 2Screen reader compatibility testing and improvements, ARIA attribute implementation for dynamic AI-generated content, form and input field accessibility enhancementsQ3 2026
Phase 3Comprehensive WCAG 2.1 AA audit (internal or third-party), accessible document generation (PDF/UA), browser extension accessibility reviewQ4 2026
OngoingContinuous accessibility testing as part of development process, user feedback review and prioritization, periodic re-auditing as new features are releasedContinuous

These timelines are targets and may be adjusted based on development priorities and user feedback. We will update this statement as we achieve milestones.

6. Accessibility Features

The following accessibility features are currently part of our platform or are being implemented:

  • Semantic HTML: We use semantic HTML elements (headings, landmarks, lists, form labels) to provide meaningful structure that assistive technologies can interpret
  • Responsive design: The Platform is designed to work across screen sizes, supporting users who zoom in or use different viewport sizes
  • Text-based content: Core content and AI-generated output is delivered as text, which is inherently accessible to screen readers and other assistive technologies
  • No auto-playing media: We do not use auto-playing audio or video content that could interfere with screen readers or cause disorientation
  • Consistent navigation: Navigation patterns remain consistent across the Platform to support predictability for all users

7. Accommodations

If you have a disability and need assistance using any part of our Platform, we are happy to help. We can provide:

  • Alternative formats: If you cannot access your resume data, AI analysis results, or other content through the Platform due to an accessibility barrier, contact us and we will work with you to provide the information in an alternative format
  • Assisted account management: If accessibility barriers prevent you from managing your account settings (including cancellation or data export), contact us and we will assist you directly
  • Feedback prioritization: Accessibility-related issues reported by users are given priority in our development process

We are committed to finding workable solutions for users who encounter accessibility barriers, even before we achieve full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance.

8. Feedback and Contact Information

Your feedback is essential to helping us improve accessibility. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, have difficulty using any part of the Platform, or have suggestions for improvement, please let us know:

Career Cortex LLC — Accessibility Feedback

Email: support@careercortex.com

Subject line: Accessibility Feedback

Website: www.careercortex.com

When reporting an accessibility issue, it is helpful (but not required) to include:

  • A description of the issue and which page or feature is affected
  • The browser and operating system you are using
  • Any assistive technology you are using (e.g., screen reader name and version)
  • What you were trying to do and what happened instead

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 3 business days and provide a substantive response or resolution timeline within 10 business days.

9. Third-Party Content and Services

Our Platform integrates with third-party services for authentication, payment processing, AI analysis, and other functions. While we select providers who prioritize accessibility, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party content, interfaces, or services that appear within or alongside our Platform. We encourage users to report any accessibility issues with third-party components, and we will work with our providers to seek improvements where possible.

10. Legal Compliance

This Accessibility Statement is provided in good faith to describe our accessibility goals, current status, and plans for improvement. It is not a certification of WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. We are actively working toward meeting accessibility standards and are committed to making continued progress.

This statement was prepared based on a self-assessment of the Platform. As we conduct formal audits and testing, we will update this statement to reflect verified conformance levels.

11. Updates to This Statement

We will review and update this Accessibility Statement periodically to reflect changes in our accessibility status, completed improvements, and new goals. Material updates will be noted by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
